Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Sueing My Father

Throughout our lives, my brother and I had it very hard. My parents divorced in 1992 and my father has been getting away with neglect for years. Now I am 24 and my brother is to be 21 at the end of this month. My question is; could my brother and I sue my father for pain and suffering for neglecting us and not helping beyond child support for all of our childhood?

Re: Sueing My Father

You should sit down with a divorce attorney now, and make sure that your brother is getting all the financial support that your father should pay. Do this quickly, do not wait until his obligation to support your brother ends.
