Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
supervised visits
My ex has supervised visits because he was telling our son (7) his mom hates him and doesn't want him anymore and punching him in the stomach. Therapist recommended the supervised visits. Ex hasn't done the court ordered parenting class which was ordered to do within 14 days, its now 3 months later and doesn't do the supervised visits, he says his sister won't supervise. But ex shows up at school functions and upsets our son. The school counselor told me to bring in the court order. I went to court to get the order and it is not signed. We have to go back to court, again. He also wants to go to his Karate classes without a supervisor. He also calls 2-4 times a week, our son does not want to talk to him because he upsets him. Is he allowed to call him all the time? show up at school or karate classes? without a supervisor?

Re: supervised visits
It sounds like what your Ex is doing is in violation of the existing court order. You should file a motion as soon as possible to enforce the court order and to have your Ex held in contempt for violating the order. You could also seek to have the supervised visits terminated until he completes the parenting class. Feel free to contact my office for a consultation. www.garneslaw.com
