Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Support

On what grounds can my ex husband be able to lower his support and to change the ratio on paying the health benefits on our son. Is this possible and does him having other children now play a factor on his support being lowered?

Re: Support

Child support is always subject to change based on a Court finding of substantial change of circumstance. What constitutes "substantial change" is different from case to case and is very fact sensitive to your particular situation. Major changes in income on the part of the payor or payee, changes in health and even changes in the number of children can all come into play. It is difficult to answer your question without knowing all of the facts and circumstances in your particular case. If you would like to discuss this, feel free to call me directly. Good luck!
