Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Teenager visitation
I have 2 teenagers, they reside in nj
with their mother. I relocated to FL. I
have a visitation order for 5 wks in
the summer. Their mother states
they are too busy, and can only visit
for a week. How do i uphold the
order, and be fair to the kids as well?

Re: Teenager visitation
First, you try to negotiate with her to reach a reasonable agreement (one week in the summer is ridiculous), then you hire an attorney and file a Motion asking the Judge to order her to let the kids visit you on a reasonable basis.
You have not said where the visitation order was filed; your attorney should be located close to the county where the order was entered, to cut down on travel time.

Re: Teenager visitation
Perhaps the children should visit you when it is cold in New Jersey, such as betwseen Christmaas and New Years or Spring break. Ask you kids about this, since they seem to be asserting themselves.
Then file a motion with the Court, if their mother will not accommodate their wishes.
Call me if you like.
