timeline of splitting property

Hi,

I have a question, I divorced May 2002. I agreed to sell the house because I wanted to have a new beginning. I didn't have too..I wanted too.

The problem is....their are some items that were suppose to be split. Including a car. All that is in my possession. In the meantime, my ex switched the title of the car in my name in March 2003.

He gave me such a hard time in the divorce that I gave up my alimony and child support for my college daughter. I gave in, because I wanted a divorce and it was getting expensive dragging on. My daughter does come home from college and lives with me ...becuase my ex still lives at his parents.

But back to my question. Isn't there a timeline of splitting these items? I mean, can he still bring me to court if one day, maybe after 2 years he decides he wants these things?

I don't know what the specifics of your Property Settlement Agreement are. However, two things: 1) There is a doctrine called "latches" that does not allow people to sleep too long on their rights. However, I don't know that one or two years is long enough to engage the doctrine; 2) If you're looking for child support, agreements by parents to waive child support are not enforceable... child support is the child's entitlement.
