i have to go to court next week , I have a TRO against my husband for domestic violence. I dont want to press further charges but I want a record that he assaulted me. is the TRO enough record ?

Both the police report and the TRO will be a record. Enough of a record? That depends on what you need it for. If this is headed for divorce, see an attorney sooner rather than later.

First, let me say that I am sorry to hear that you were assaulted. There is no excuse for that, ever.

Second, you really should NOT act quickly on this, take your time and get some advice. Situations where violence gets worse and women get hurt horribly happen all too often.

Third, you need to talk to a divorce attorney and get some advice. You need to know what your options are.

Fourth, to answer your question:

NO. a TRO that you do not pursue is probably NOT enough to protect you, and NOT enough of a record.
