Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Typo in Divorce Decree
I was divorced in New Jersey in June 2008 I just realized that there is a typo in the decress it states that I was married on May 23, 1992 when in fact I was married May 23, 1997. Does this mean I am not divorced? What needs to be done.

Re: Typo in Divorce Decree
You could file a motion with the Court to submit an Amended Final Judgment Of Divorce. It might work that you could merely send the revised final judgment of divorce to the judge who signed the judgment with the request that it be signed under the five day rule whereby, having copied your former spouse by certified mail, the judgment would be signed and entered by the Court should your former spouse not object within five days.
