Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

visitation

I have a divorce filed in NJ. MY Child resides in New york with her father. he has filed for support in New York. Therre is no visitation order filed yet. I am having problems, which state can I file a vistation order in, and can I ask for him to meet me half way/share transporation?

You should file for vistation in New York. You could also do it in New Jersey, but since the child lives in NY, that would be better.

You can ask that he meet you half way, but there is no guarantee that this will be granted.
