Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
Visitation
I had and episode with my ex-husband today concerning my son who fell yesterday and scraped his face. I told my sons father about the incident yesterday through several phone calls and even sent him a picture because he has visitation this weekend and I didnt want him to be startled when he saw it. However this morning my ex-husband was extremely irrational approaching a point where I thought he was going to hit me. He was nose-to-nose with me in a parking lot where I meet him with my son accusing me of not keeping him informed and questioning why I didnt take our son to the doctor. The injury was in no way an emergency situation. He is a 3 year old that fell on a cement step and got scraped. My concern is my ex-husbands behavior. I feel hes acting out because hes is facing serious financial hardship. What are my options concerning visitation if this type of confrontation continues or if my ex tries to make a problem for me with the fall that occurred?

Re: Visitation
From your zip code, I can see that you are not near me and I can not help you.
If you were threatened by your ex, then you should consider asking for a restraining order. 'Nose to nose in a parking lot'? that is not good, and not safe for you. Please go talk to a divorce attorney near you and get some guidance.
You may want to change how you deliver and receive your son from your ex, to a safer method. How about at the parking lot of the police station? how about a relative drops off and his relative returns?
As I said, I am not near you, but if you would like me to help you, please give me a call; I am in Hackensack (northern New Jersey). I will be happy to discuss this with you; a brief telephone consultation will be free.
