Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Visitation and Support

Judge through out an original written agreement between two unmarried people with regards to child support. The judge went by the NJ guildlines instead. Any legal recourse?

Re: Visitation and Support

There may be some recourse. It depends upon the reasons the Judge gave for not complying with the Agreement and whether the Agreement was in writing. You may be able to file a Motion for Reconsideration or you can appeal the decision to the Appellate Division. Those two avenues of relief are very time specific, however, 20 days for reconsideration and 45 days for appeal. You must act swiftly.
