Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
My wife lives with our two sons in NJ, whilst I live and work permanently overseas. I see my children for 3 weeks every summer and it costs 10,000 US$ for the return flight, temporary accommodation, food and car hire. We are in the process of getting divorced and sorting asset distribution. Can my 10,000 US$ costs be factored into this? We have already sorted out the child support and it is being paid.

Your basic argument is that your wife should pay half of the travel costs. It certainly is an issue and if she does not agree to pay some of this, you could ask the Court to require it in the context of the divorce proceedings. It is one of the issues that would be decided along with any other issues that the two of you could not agree to.
