Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

My wife and I submitted all the paperwork for an uncontested divorce... the court date is this monday... she originally said that she wasn't coming to court now all of a sudden she's being hesitant and seeming like she wants to speak up during the court session. hat happens if she does? All the paperwork is signed and filed... can this void the whole process? Type your question here...

She can speak up all she wants. What she says will determine what happens with the case. Doing this without an attorney was probably a big mistake unless you have nothing at all, no kids, etc.

The Judge will decide what to do, based on what she says. If she objects to what she has signed, the Judge will likely postpone the matter and strongly suggest that you get attorneys. If it is a minor thing, maybe it can be worked out. It really depends on what she says.

Keep in mind that this information is given based on the scanty facts that you have provided. And no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. In order to be able to rely upon any advice, you need to meet with and retain an attorney, who will be able to give you advice after a full and comprehensive interview. Before you do anything further, you should contact an attorney for a full consultation. Good Luck! Rob Gleaner
