The answer to your question will depend upon several factors, and it is impossible to predict what the Judge will award based only on your short question. How long since the money was put into the house? what money other than that came from you, from him, and what sources for that money? what other assets are there? this is not a complete list of factors, just a few examples.

If you are asking these questions on a computer bulletin board, then either you have an attorne who is not answering your questions (fire that attorney, get someone else) or you have no attorney (very foolish). Please get a decent, experienced divorce attorney working for you.

There are other very important issues which you will have to face in a divorce. Child custody and support, alimony, and more.

Re: I need to know

Inheritance is exempt from equitable distribution in a divorce, unless a gift is made to your spouse or the gift is commingled with marital assets. When the house was purchased in both names you made a gift to your spouse. If the house were purchased in your name solely with the use of your inheritance, the house would be exempt from equitable distribution.
