Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

Withholding visitation

I am intending to withhold visitation

of my son w/ his father beginning

this weekend at least until we see

a judge. What recourse can I suffer

because of this? His father has

admitted to drinking & driving with

my son in car, taking him each

weekend to adult parties, playing

drinking games 'w/o' alcohol,

allowing him to ride atv's w/o

helmets & protective gear and a

few other things. His father flat out

told me that he doesn't see

anything wrong with any of this

and my son is 8y/o. I do not want

to involve DFYS but I do not feel my

son is safe in his care at this point.

I am filing a petition today. What is

the best way to notify my ex of

this? We were never married and I

do not have any money for an

attorney.

Re: Withholding visitation

You should probably see an attorney and discuss an emergency motion. If there is an order in place, he could call the police.
