Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey
can i write a letter to the court
my court order states my son has to be a full time student 12 credits or more to continue child support order. He only needs 11 credits this last semester,(for associate degree) and he only has enough left on his student loan amount for the year for the 11 credits. My husband takes us back to court on a routine basis so we have an early Feb court date, he wants to emancipte him and reduce the child support on my daughter because he is only working part time. Can I write and ask the judge to make an exception and allow him to complete the 11 credits and keep the child support order or is there another way?

Re: can i write a letter to the court
When your husband files a motion, which he must do to terminate support, you can submit a certification (not a mere letter) giving the facts as you have set forth. You leave out many other factors which may also be important so it would be best to see an attorney about this.
