automobile accident lawsuit

in case of personal injury, does the lawsuit have to be served in person or can it be mailed to the recipient also if the suit has been filed within two years. how much time does one have to actually sue.

if you are in NJ, sevice can first be made by mail. However, if the defendant dooes not respond, they will have to be served personally. Once a suit is filed, the statue of limitation stops to running.
