Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Class Action Lawsuit

A class action lawsuit was filed agst Quiznos Corp. by franchisees in NJ. The basic claim was that Quiznos took 25K as a franchise agreement fee and never helped to open stores fro franchisees and wont return that fee. I am in a similar situation, however did not know of the class action lawsuit at that time. The case has been settled and I wanted to know if I could get a piece of the settlement. Was this an ''opt-in'' class action lawsuit? What would be my option to help recoup some is not all of the 25K. Thanks in advance.

Re: Class Action Lawsuit

You need to find out whether you were actually part of the defined class, then find out why you were not notified of the settlement if are part of the class. The best source for the information would be the settlement administrator. If you do not have that information, do a Yahoo or Google search under "Quiznos Settlement' or something along those lines. That should point you in the right direction. Remember also that if you are part of the class and did not opt in you are free to pursue your own action.

Good luck,

Re: Class Action Lawsuit

I see that another attorney has replied to you.

After you investigate, you will need an attorney to assist you if you wish to file a separate lawsuit. I would be happy to speak to you about this. If you are in northern NJ, give me a call.

My contact information can be obtained from the links below, just click on the Attorney Profile link. Let my secretary know you found me through LawGuru, and I will give you a free initial consultation.

Of course, you can not rely on the advice of an attorney given over the internet. Also, the exact facts of your situation, including facts which you have not mentioned in your question, may completely change the result for your situation.
