cosigner coowner of a car

I cosign for a car lease for my ex, my name appears on the contract also as a co leaser, he keeps on missing payments and is damaging my credit. I live in Miami, Fl the car is kept in NJ where he lives. I want to drvie up there and take car,will there be any legal problems.

Yes. Lots of problems are likely. You need to get with the ex and try to work this out.
