Dental Service Billing

Can a Dental Service charge you a much higher amount than you expected and demand payment immediately or refuse to finish work that would cause you pain if left undone at this point?I did not start out in pain.Please Help!No one EVER discussed the cost of my treatment with me and my own lay person estimations were wrong.Please help!

It seems very unprofessional for a dentist to not discuss fees with you before the work was begun. On the other hand, it seems that you should have asked what the cost would be prior to the beginning of the services if that was a concern to you. It seems to me that if you go in and ask for a service without asking the cost, you are obligated to pay for it, the assumption being that you would not have asked for the service unless you could afford to pay for it. Your own subjective belief as to how much it should cost seems to be irrelevant. The best thing you can do at this point is to discuss the monetary problem with the dentist and offer a payment plan over a period of time. Good luck!
