I was bitten by a neighbor's dog. How long do I have to take legal action.

generally, two years. There are some exceptions for Statute of Limitations and you should seek formal legal advise.

The statute of limitations for a personal injury claim in New Jersey is two years. You must file a complaint with the Court within two years. The reality is that the dog's owner may move away to an unknown address and take your claim against him with him. You should sue the dog's owner NOW.

As you know from the other posts, two years normally, unless you are a minor. This is a strict liability tort, which means that as long as you did not incite and are legally allowed where you were when bitten, the defendant is completely responsible for any damages you incurred personally.
