Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

I do not have good credit and needed a car, my friend financed the car and placed it in her name. I pay her every month. I now have the money to pay off the car and give her some extra for the help. She won't let me pay the car off and put it in my name. do I have any legal recourse against her?
