Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

information on monertary resources

For three years i have soley taken care of someone when i first started taking care of this person i was not aware of how serious of a condition. I was working outside as well, and having to take off so much work i lost alot of income because of this while this person has 2 children who have not step up to help and making much more income than i i would like to know if i have any resource to be paid by them for taking care of their parent.While they have lived and not lost anything.

If you not receiving some benefit (e.g. free room and board) then you may want to move on with taking care of yourself.

Without some sort of written agreement or perhaps a letter confirming that there was a promise to pay you for your services, then your services would be considered nothing more that out of the kindness of your heart.

I agree with the other attorney. There is no duty to care for a parent. There are many older people who have been abandoned by their children and left for dead. I admire what you are doing but I do not have any good news for you.
