i am being stalked . a amn i know has for years been asking people to perform acts of hostilities toward me. he has been making harrassing phone calls, hacking into numerous computers both mine and others, sendind virus to others using my public email, performing thousands of acts of denial of internet service at numerous ip providers .he has theatened to knife me eight years ago. he is tampering with my families answering machines . he is making annoyance calls to my elderly parents place, as well as sending them pornographic email.he is emailing hundreds of hate emails per weak. he is calling every restaurant i go to and asking people to make ridiculous actions. he is diverting my phone calls , as well leaving bogus measages on my cell and asking people to do the same.he is disconnecting my trading platform dozens of time s per month .he is also altering my trading platform when i am not logged into it.THIS MAN APEARS TO WANT TO BE MARRIED TO ME FOR LIFE . DO I SUE , INCRIMINATE, AND ELSE ?

The problem that you describe is uncommon, but not unique. You certainly have the right to be protected and the law can help you. Your most difficult task will be establishing proof and the best time to do that is before you let him know that you are taking legal action.

I recommend that you discuss the matter with at least one lawyer and possible several. Most of us will give you a free or inexpensive consultation. To collect proof, the services of a PI might be appropriate. Remember that his acts must be proved and he gets the benefit of the doubt.

If you are able to amass enough proof of harassment, your next recourse is to the prosecutor. NJ has laws against this kind of behaviour. If your evidence is strong enough, there should be a provable criminal case to be made. Having done that, it will be easier win a civil suit. More importantly, criminal judges are familiar enough with the kind of behaviour that you describe to know that it often takes more then a slap on the wrist to get attention.
