Question regarding removal of name from loan.

Looking for a way to get a name off a vehicle loan. Girlfriend/boyfriend split up. Both names on the loan. Girlfriend payed down payment. Nothing else. All other paprework is in boyfriends name. She needs to remove her name from this paperwork fearing that ex will default and she will have damaged credit. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. This is a difficult situation. The law is that she is 'on the loan' (a guarentor) whether or not she receives any benefit from the vehicle. However, good things can be accomplished through negotiation. This is the only option available at this time.
