Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Real Estate Buyer Agreement

I listed the sale of house with a realtor, who was with a national broker. Three weeks after our listing agreement was signed (6mo. contract) she left the broker. We are very dissatisfied in the manner in which the broker has handled our listing and are extremely dissatisfied with them and they are unwilling to terminate our agreement without the commission penalty to them should we sell through another broker. What are my options in ending my listing with them and selecting an all together new agent with a different broker without being penalized the contracted commission to the first broker.

Re: Real Estate Buyer Agreement

We would need to see the listing agreement before commenting. I can tell you from experience, however, that you most likely hired the company, not the agent. Where did the agent go? What would happen if that agent brought a Buyer?

These are questions that need answers as well.

Call or write back to discuss.
