Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey
Representation by non-attorney
Is it permissible to chose representation in a court hearing by a non-attorney and, if so, what procedures must I follow to appoint someone else to speak for me during the hearing?

Re: Representation by non-attorney
A non-attorney may not REPRESENT you in court but depending on what court you are in, and the judge you are before, it is not unusual for litigants to have another person in court speak for them (particularly if you have a problem communicating for some reason i.e. language difference.)
