Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

subpoena not given to me, liable?
Long story short i was a cosginer for someone in a state on the other side of the country years ago. I live at a new home, i have for months and my address is changed and on file for even longer then that.

I heard third party that my old address recieved a subpoena for me to appear in court over it. I cant afford to fly/drive across country to appear in a court case in NJ (orig state).

Am i liable if i wasnt served directly? I mean the address is right there, they could have mailed it to me.

If you no longer live at the address then a subpoena served there is not valid.
