Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Subpoena

I was supeonaed to appear in court in march of 2005, it was postponed until may 15, 2005. I never received notice from the attorney that is was cancelled. I got a letter on august 18th telling me i am still under subpoena and i am to appear in court on sept. 12. Do i still have to appear, and if so, is there a way of getting out of a subpoena. Is there a statute of limitations on a subpoena?

Thank you,

Re: Subpoena

You have not stated whether this is a criminal case, civil case, or whether you are a party (person involved in the lawsuit). The easy answer is that you should appear and avoid trouble. If you really do not wish to appear, call my office for an appointment and bring all documents having anything to do with this. I may be able to assist. 973 890 0400
