Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

tickets

I give 3 tickets to a baseball game to 3 of my friends and my best friend decides she can't go. I give her ticket to next friend in line. Game gets rained out. Who has the right to the ticket for the replacement game? The best friend (first choice) or the one who replaced her because she could not go?

Re: tickets

I'm not sure if this is a bona fide question or not, but in any event once you gave your ticket to your best friend and assuming she accepted it it was a completed gift and therefore her's to do what she wanted with it. By you saying you then gave it to someone else implies that either you actually did not give your best friend the ticket or she gave it back to you in which case the gift was not complete as to her or by her giving it back to you it was your's to give to your next friend. Assuming again that you actually gave the ticket to the next friend in line then it is his/her ticket and neither you nor your best friend have any ownership interest in it. Therefore, the next friend gets to go to the make up game.
