Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey
I told coworkers that if I won the lottery, I'd pay off some of their bills. We have since fallen out of favor. Even though I signed nothing or vowed this, can I be responsible to share with them?

A promise offered gratuitously, where there is no reliance on same, is not binding. I take it that you have not won the lottery because you are seeking free advice. I would think that your former coworkers understood that the promise was premised upon your continuted good relations.
Call me if you like.
