Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

trash

My neighbor put an 8' staggered privacy fence up but left about 8'' clearance at the bottom.I put more fencing there to cover the gap. They throw their bagged trash against this fence where my dogs can get to it, not in a trash can. I've asked them nicely to stop, citing concern for my dogs health, but it still happens. Friday my dog got into their bagged trash which was against the fence, pulled it into my yard and got poisoned, almost died. When I presented them the vet bill they said they weren't responsible and had done nothing wrong. Then said MY dog was in THIER yard (by digging) and got the trash. He also said I should contain my dogs. They were in MY fenced yard. Now they have a container of gas there within 10' of my house. What can I do? I live in Bellmawr, NJ. I have photos.

Re: trash

You should talk to your local police who can cite your neighbor for violations of the local health codes as well as improper storage of a hazardous substance (the gas container). You can also retain an attorney to pursue an action against your neighbor for creating a nuisance. Please feel free to contact my office for an appointment if you would like to discuss this further.
