Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

Unwanted Guest!

I want to know what legal recourse I have in removing someone who I have living in my house. I am the owner and unwanted guest has no legal ownership to it. I have talked with several peole who has advised me that I can not just change the locks, or if I did I would be escorted out by police. This unwanted guest I have asked to leave several times and simply will not leave, needless to say they will not just go away quietly. The unwanted guest is now threatening to contact my employer with accusations that I have assaulted them and has also vowed to ruin my life. My question is how can I have this unwanted guest removed legally and also protect my good standing at my place of employment from this most nightmare of guests. I have had the police to my house on several occasions of which I asked them to come fearing my own safety. I have had a Temporary restraining order placed against this person only to have the judge not admit two police reports and dismiss my case citing that I did not meet the burden of proof as the plaintiff. I have excercised every resource at my disposal. My last course of action will be to retain an attorney, How can I legally put this situation to rest before I am the one out of my own house...

Re: Unwanted Guest!

Your unwanted guestis a trespasser. Go to the police department and request that the police remove this person from your house even if you have to file a complaint for trespassing.
