verbal agreement

17 yr old son involved in auto accident extorted to pay 1/2 value of car, now since turned 18 is being sued for 1/2 value of car. Is this legal?

I would hope the payment was by check. I would expect that this payment damage to vehicle.

You should have an attorney write a letter pointing out the penalties for extortion.
