Legal Question in Civil Litigation in New Jersey

I was wondering if you were to phrase a contract like this, would it hold up in court? And would it still be binding if this agreement is signed prior to any others. If not explain?

"I,_____,hereby relinquish my active membership in the group,_____. I am no longer responsible for_______, and now give all said responsibilities over to_________. In addition, I am subject to all the rules and regulations regarding terminated members during all contracts, both verbal and written, pertaining to _group name__ signed between May 2006 and September 2006."

The answer depends on a lot of facts that are not set out in your question. If this is worth anything, you should really speak to an attorney.

In general, it is a lot easier to give up your rights to something than it is to get rid of your obligation to pay for something.
