Legal Question in Health Care Law in New Jersey
Dear Lawyer,
Is it legal for a doctor's office to deny a patient access to his/her test results (eg. ultrasound, urinalysis, CBC) until that patient schedules an appointment with the doctor to "discuss the test results."
Thank you
James

The doctor has the discretion to decide under what circumstances test results should be given to a patient, especially a patient who might misunderstand test results without the information that is best provided by the doctor in person.
