Hospital billing

Hi,

I have my doctor in-network set up the procedure at the hospital. Then hospital doctor and anastesiologyst billed me separately even thou doctor was the one who set the procedure and appointment up and he performed the procedure at that hospital himself.

His bill was reasonable. Hospital billed $8600 for just being there for 6 hours. Anastesiologyst bill was reasonable (but not paid at all by my insurance).

I feel like I was overbilled by the hospital and I do not feel that it was fair to have me billed from all three different parties. They work together afterall and my doctor sent me there and had performed procedure himself. Maybe insurance did not pay the anastesiologyst because he was out of network.

What is your suggestion on this matter? How can I investigate the billing? How can I lower my bill. Insurance paid almost all of it but I'm still stuck with about $2000 in bills.
