Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

Applying for U.S. citizenship

I'm a greencard holder through marriage for the past 6 years. Before I got my greencard I had a 'tour of duty' visa that already expired. I started working at a fortune 500 and was injured in the company. I collected workercomp and Social security disability for 4 years. I want to be a U.S. Citizen, would i be denied because I collected social security disability before I got my greencard?

Re: Applying for U.S. citizenship

As long as you did not violate any laws, regulations, commit fraud, etc., there is no reason that the receipt of these benefits should effect your naturalization. Nevertheless, if you are still concerned, our office can represent you with your naturalization application at a very reasonable cost.
