Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

Citizenship

My's application for naturalization has been denial, due to ''Poor Moral Character (False Testimony, Lying).

She didn't not report her 1986 shoplifting record in Hong Kong.

But this record is on her initial immigration application and she was granted with visa and green card. She didn't mean to lie. Can we appeal this?

Thanks

Vic

Re: Citizenship

Yes, you can appeal the denial of naturalization. It is important to review the basis under which the CIS denied the application. You also must make sure whether the CIS was correct or not. THere are certain "permanent bars" to naturalization under INA 101(f).

If you wish to consult with us about this situation, please feel free to call us. We specialize in immigration law and have experience with naturalization appeals.

Best Wishes!
