Filing a petition for permanent residence

My fiance is a permanent resident, how long after we get married can he put in a petition for my green card? Is there a waiting period

Your fiance can file for an immigrant petition on your behalf immediately. However, you will not be considered an immeidate relative and become eligible for immigration benenfits until he becomes a U.S. Citizen.

Once he is a citizen, you can file your adjustment of status immediately.
