Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

immigration status

my wife is on visitor visa,and we applied for extention we didn't get any response from the INS,after that she got pregenant and she delveried the baby. For my situation I just did the citizenship interview and he asked me about the status of my wife I told him she is on visitor visa my question is, are they go to check her status?and what they will do when they find out that her visa expired so please tell me what the situation now. and thank youvery much for your time.
