Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey
L1b to H1b
I have valid L1 till Jan 2009 and now I want to change my company. I want to know what is the procedure ?
I gone through some of the forums and my understanding is I need to transfer it to H1. If so, what are the steps I need to do? Is cap is applicable? Do I need to wait till March 2008 for H1 filing?

Re: L1b to H1b
Sir/Madam,
You are correct in that you will need to change your visa in order to chnage employers since L-1 visa is tied to your particular employer.
You would be subject to the H-1b cap, unless your employer would otherwise be cap exempt or if you had a U.S. Master's degree, which are also soon to run out.
