about to marry a american citizen
Hi all , i came to this country from Uruguay in 1997 , with a 10 years visa and over stayed , now i have been thinking about marrying my girlfriend , we have been together for about 4 years , we want to do it but im a little afraid of the headaches that this may be , is it as hard and complicated as people say it ? thank you !!! Yes, I would have to say that marriage is quite complicated. However, the issue of "marriage complexities" is beyond the scope of our immigration practice.
However, if you are asking about whether it is possible to do a case based upon marriage to a USC we would have to say that it is fairly routine for our office staff.

Dear Nando: To answer your immigration question - yes you may get a green card if you marry an American Citizen. You should be familiar with what documents are needed in order for you to get a green card.

We would have to run through a few questions to make sure that you were eligible for a green card and to avoid unnecessary headaches but generally if the marriage is legitimate and you don't have a criminal record we can certainly help you out with getting your green card.
