Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am going to apply for green card, but I am sure where I shall I start. Also I am looking for a good lawyer to help me process this application.
I've seen your website are very helpful. Could you evaluate my credentials:
Credentials:
1. PhD Chemistry.
2. 4 papers published in foreign journals and 5 conference posters. There will be 2~5 papers in the next two years.
3. Current working for a small biotech compamy doing organic synthesis
4. able to get strong recommendation letters from US researchers and professors, two professors are quite well known in their areas.
5. My company is willing to support my GC application.

Possibilities: 1. Alien of extraordinary ability 2. Outstanding professor or
researcher 3. Schedule A, Group II automatic labor certification 4. individual
job offer labor certification. Which is best for him depends on a personal
interview.

The green card process is rather cumbersome and generally requires obtaining a certification from the Dept of Labor as a first step.
More information would be needed to fully advise you but at some point you may want your attorney to look into the issue of whether Labor Cert is required in your case or you can file without one based on your credentials. Pls be aware that the standard is very high.

please note that in mid 90s it was lot easier to get greencard w/o LC process with your type of qualification. These days it is very hard. Since you have an willing emoployer..Labo cert would be the best solution form you. If PERM gets approved..labor cert will move faster. what is your status now? I am assuming you are in status or under 245 (i) to be adjusted in the states.
