Legal Question in Immigration Law in New Jersey
Permanent resident with a tourist who overstayed?
I want to marry my boyfriend who came from Peru in 2000 with a tourist visa and stayed after the 6 month period expired.
I am currently a permanent resident, and would like to know if we get married what procedures would have to be done (if there are fines we have to pay, what forms do we need, if he'd have to go back to Peru...if so, is there a possibility that he might get denied the legal status and never return to the US?, is there a way to speed up the 10 year wait, etc).
Your help would be really appreciated.

Re: Permanent resident with a tourist who overstayed?
My first question to you would be how long you have been a permanent resident and when will you be eligible for citizenship. As a US citizen you may have options to help your to-be husband. Give me a call and we can run through the options. Sameer (732) 985-1310
