Hi,

In general, employment is at-will unless you have a separate written agreement with the employer specifying damages in case of breach of contract. In addition, even if there is a separate agreement with the employer, a court will very rarely compel performance--the worst case will be the liability for potential monetary damages as per the written agreement.

Re. marriage to a U.S. citizen, the sponsorship paperwork can be filed and you should be able to adjust status in the U.S.: www.h1b1.com/Uscitizen.htm
