Legal Question in Insurance Law in New Jersey

Can you help me?

To whom it may concern:

I had been invovled in a major accident in NJ on June 29 2001. I had a problem with my auto insurance about the date of cancellation. They have just called me on the phone to indicate that I was in fact insured on the date of the accident. However, here is the twist where I need possible legal council. I have been told that because my accident took place in NJ I have a 250,000. medical limit instead of the 5,000. from PA. I had broken ribs and a small piece of my back was broken during the accident. I have just had surgery on mass that was formed from the impact of the collision. I had been bed ridden during July and August to heal the bones with no therapy because no one would see me due to the cancellation issue. What rights (if any) do I have since I thought based on the original adjuster that I had only had 5,000. limit and that it was not covered because of the cancellation issue? I had to pay for my recovery and I have not been able to go back to work. I do not blame anybody but do I have any legal recouse in this issue? Thank you for your time in this matter.

Sincerely,

I am licensed in both states. If you have a lawyer, all of your problems stem from the accident and your injuries should be blamed on the defendant who caused the injuries.
