Legal Question in Insurance Law in New Jersey
How should this be handled
I was in an automobile accident where the othe driver ran a red light and slammed into my vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was given a summons. He is now fighting that summons claiming that I ran the light, therefore I have received a summons in the mail to appear in court as a witness for the state.
Am I obligated to attend this hearing, and if so, should I retain a lawyer to attend the hearing with me?

Re: How should this be handled
If you have a subpoena to appear, YOU MUST APPEAR. You do not need an attorney and whatever happens in traffic court is not very relevant to any claim that you may have for personal injuries. You musts attend however. YOu should contact the entity that sent you the document and talk to them as well.
