Legal Question in Insurance Law in New Jersey
My husband recently passed away. He had various outstanding bills in his name only. The life insurance check is made out to me. Can the creditors go into my bank account, which has my name only and take what my husband owed them?

If you were the beneficiary, the life insurance is your money and not the property of his estate. You cold be liable fof his debts if you signed for it but otherwise you should be OK. You should see a lawyer for specific advice.
