Legal Question in Intellectual Property in New Jersey
i found a celebrity's phone over the weekend and it has all her photos in there. Can I get sued if I turn them in to a popular website like TMZ? in other words would it be legal for me to leak the photos?

You can get sued for getting up in the morning. The question of significant for litigation is can the other party win and what cause of action might they have. The question of who has the rights in the information is complex and depends a lot on what is there. Disclosure invites a suit for invasion of privacy which has a reasonable chance of succeeding against you.
That said, why not do the right thing? Why should information about this celebrity or anyone else be a gold mine for you? Neither the phone nor the information on it belongs to you. Don't look at anything more than necessary to find the owher and give it back. That way you won't have to worry about being sued.
