name change for minor

my 8 year old daughter has not seen her father in 3 years - and she wants my last name - what do I have to do?

You need to file a motion with the court. Not sure you really need an attorney for this, especially if he does not object. Go down to your county court and tell them what you are looking to do. Shouldn't be a problem.
